With
Tom Foremski and Carolyn Pritchard

Dead tree media is crashing if not dying--major big city daily newspapers have closed in Denver and Seattle, newspapers everywhere are shedding staff and costs as fast as they can. Our panelists have extensive experience in leading some of the new delivery formats emerging on the web and will talk about these differences and what they mean for readers as well as businesses who need to find replacements for channels to their own consumers.

About the Speakers

Tom Foremski "In May 2004 I became the first journalist from a leading newspaper to resign and become a full-time blogger. I had one of the top jobs in journalism and I had never blogged. Yet I knew in my gut that the timing was right, and that the business of online journalism would continue to improve while the print business model would continue to worsen."

Tom is the founder of SiliconValleyWatcher.com and a Founding Fellow of the Society for New Communications Research. He was previously US Technology Correspondent and a columnist for the Financial Times of London and Editor-in-Chief for a West Coast News-High tech news agency.

Foremski holds a bachelors of science degree in Chemistry and Management Science from the Royal Holloway College of the University of London.

Carolyn Pritchard Carolyn Pritchard is the managing editor of Giga Omni Media, a network of technology-focused blogs including GigaOM.com, which is consistently ranked among the most influential technology sites on the web. Prior to that, she spent nearly six years as a reporter and editor at MarketWatch.com. Her financial markets training began in Canada, where she was licensed to trade securities and did a brief stint on that country's version of Wall Street. She holds a Masters in Journalism from UC Berkeley.
